Walking for a Cause
As we celebrate ZMYND11 Awareness Day, I want to share something very close to my heart
This September, I walked part of the Camino de Santiago – Portuguese Coastal Way in Spain, and I chose to use the journey to raise awareness for ZMYND11-related rare disease.
As the mum of a child affected by ZMYND11, this was much more than a walk. Along the Camino, I wore our awareness shirt, shared our story, and carried the hope that a few more people would learn the name ZMYND11.
I also shared our journey with my company-wide community of more than 153,000 colleagues, and within days, the post had already been seen by over 8,600 people.
For a rare condition, every person reached matters. Every conversation matters. Every step toward greater awareness brings our community a little more visibility.
I’m proud to have carried the ZMYND11 community with me all the way to Santiago de Compostela, and I’ll continue doing my part to spread the word and support the hope for research and, one day, treatment.
Buen Camino — for our children, our families, and everyone touched by ZMYND11.
